say hello, wave goodbye

This was in the Washington Post yesterday, and I thought it was interesting. It is certainly a different take on the situation in Darfur. I appreciate that they acknowledge that there is more to this story (and most news stories) than you typically get in talking-head-on-CNN scenario.

That image says a lot, doesn't it? I've been using YouTube to learn more about Darfur. As a mother, it's so hard to see the children. I want to adopt every one of those precious children. Tell us what the best thing to do from here is. If you don't have the money to adopt them all and you can't make a trip to go there in person, what's the best organization to support or to whom do we send the letters?

By the way, thank you for your well-stated post on Political Cartel today. You said it so well. I can't throw down with the big boys on that blog, but you sure did.

I'm sorry I didn't know you when you were here. I would have been your biggest champion. I don't even know you, but I'm so proud of you for pressing on against the odds. It has encouraged me (who remains in Searcy) to keep making noise.

    God bless you!
